Wow, I really have not posted a valid entry in this thing in a while. Well, its time to remedy that. I think it would be trite and boring to start out by saying college is cool because almost everyone that will read this has already discovered that. Just know that this is easier than highschool and sooo much free-er (how do you spell that? Yes, i am in college.) I have become a very nastalgic person. I keep looking for stuff from my past to get, such as the re-released Little Mermaid, the classic childrens books Kat Kong and Dogzilla, Uno, and some stuff from home I made mom send me. I guess its part of missing home. It has not even been a full three months but i am really starting to miss certain things, mostly at night, about kilgore. The one major thing i have noticed is the difference of the attitudes of my friends here. Dont get me wrong, i love them and enjoy hanging out with them as much as possible, but i think people here are a bit more conservative than k-town and outback (DEFINATELY outback). that or its just that we are new together so they are being conservative while i am not and it makes them seem tame. hopefully that is it and they will open up in time. i miss the wild and crazy stuff lol.

Ok that feels good. I forgot how good of a medium this was to vent stuff. Hopefully i will frequent this place more often once again :D

Have a nice day

Mass Comm Assn

I have something to say that I feel much more vehement about after the events of the past couple of days. We had been talking a bit about how news has become more of an entertainment media than an information media, and I don't think I truly appreciated this then as I do now. I receieved an e-mail from one of my friends in band titled "this is hilarious. you will love it!" that carried a short account of a woman followed by a picture. The story spoke of parasites and the advantages of washing your clothes, but the picture "depicted" a woman's breast that had been infected by the parasites allegedly in her bra. The picture was absolutely grotesque and made me nauseous. I was enraged at the content of the email and replied to the sender that it was a terrible thing to say was funny, and that I did not appreciate it being sent to me. He quickly replied that the photo was a farse and told me of what the photoshopped picture really was. My point is that the account of the woman was delivered in such a way that it was near to impossible to tell if it was true or not, making the photo seem valid. False stories are being delivered to us as truth apparently in the hopes of a few good laughs or something equally as innocent but are being taken as offensive and obtruse. Media is becoming so mixed, on the internet especially, that it is becoming increasingly difficult to distinguish information from entertainment.

Studying sucks.

I have never been challenged in highschool in a way that i required study to do well so now i have no skills in it nor do i have the patience and tolerance to study effectively.

I'm going to sit poolside and read my comic.

Ok, so i dont know how many of my tex friends still even look at this site, but i will use this as an outlet anyway. I have a facebook but it doesnt really let me write anything. Its more of a medium to talk to friends. Anyway, here goes....

Ok so like i said, Alabama is actually pretty cool. Well, UA is at least. I miss texas. Band rocks and without it i prolly would have just sat around my dorm like a hermit with no friends who has no fun. But for now, i am enjoying life. My classes are all really cool because they are all stuff i WANT to do. I dont even have a math or english this year. its awesome.

College is actually fun. I will update more later.

and i will never take the she man off my background
